Description
Repro.Includes 7064 snap ring.Used to retain the speedo drive gear to the output shaft.Correct for use through mid-1970.Mid-70 and on a bi-metal clip was used to retain the gear in the square channel of the 4A style gear.This clip often broke or fell out leaving the gear to spin and cause the speedo to read incorrectly.Using this ball and snap ring on later trans will alleviate this issue with a more secure fit to the shaft.This kit is mandatory when using the current 17285-1 repro gear which is of the type 4 style without the channel for the bi-metal clip.
