Opening a saltwater pool after winter is a different job than opening a chlorine pool. The salt cell is sitting cold, the cover is off, and whatever organic debris settled into the water over the winter is now your problem. Leaves, oils, pollen, lawn runoff, and other non-living organic material build up under a closed pool and can cloud the water during startup.
