This XP2E pump features the larger suction for 2 1/2 inch plumbing connection along with the standard 2 inch plumbing discharge for superior performance in hot tubs plumbed for a 2 1/2 inch suction. These nominal sizes refer to the inner diameter of the connecting hose or pipe.
Typically the 2 inch plumbing connection for 2 inch inner diameter hose/pipe measures about 3 1/16″ across pump threads and the 2 1/2 inch plumbing connection is about 2 7/16″ across pump threads.
