Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and disconnect the battery if the door has power components.
- Lower or raise the window as needed to access the lockstrip ends, then remove the interior door panel and any vapor barrier or water shield to expose the inner door cavity.
- Carefully lower the glass (if necessary) and remove any clips, screws, or retainers securing the old lockstrip and inner weatherstrip to expose the glass channel.
- Gently pry and pull out the old lockstrip from the glass channel, noting the orientation and how it seated against the glass.
- Clean the glass channel and surrounding area thoroughly with solvent and a rag; remove corrosion, old adhesive, and debris to ensure a good fit for the new strip.
- Test-fit the new WLS 848/853 SP lockstrip to confirm length and orientation. Trim carefully if trimming is required (follow vehicle-specific guidance).
- Seat the new lockstrip into the glass channel: align the lip correctly, press firmly along the length, and use steady pressure to engage it fully. Raise or lower the glass slightly if needed to help the strip seat evenly.
- Reinstall the inner weatherstrip, any retainers or clips, and test the window operation several times to confirm smooth movement and proper sealing.
- Reassemble the door panel and any removed components. Verify final fitment and check for wind noise or leaks on a test drive or with a water check.
